Energy for Defense Applications

Lewis-Burke worked with a client organization to provide in-depth analysis on a developing research opportunity to pursue a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) at the intersection of renewable and operational energy.  The intelligence was provided prior to public awareness and based on legislative and agency conversations.  The analysis included identifying key attributes of successful approaches, such as partnerships with industry to pursue larger scale energy technology implementations with the military and related efforts to explore opportunities in military installations as test beds, critical materials, and environmental research and technology.  Lewis-Burke then worked with the client organization to develop a federal strategy to both shape any future solicitations and increase faculty exposure to non-traditional funding opportunities in DOD.
